Nights in Las Vegas

I recently traveled to Las Vegas with my girlfriend for a friend’s graduation and finally got to test my X100V in a low light setting. I normally shoot on Canon cameras so getting used to my new X100V has taken some time, but I love how lightweight and travel friendly the camera is. Posted below are few of the test shots taken during my brief time in Vegas. I spent most of my time there going to restaurants and relaxing in our hotel room, it definitely wasn’t a productive photography trip but it was a much needed getaway.

Lick Observatory

I met up with the squad last weekend and traveled to Lick Observatory for a Saturday day trip. It was a clear day and we were able to get a really nice view of the East Bay from one of the highest vantage points in the area. The observatory is also home to one of the world’s largest telescopes and the peaks sometimes get snow in the winter, which is pretty rare for the Bay Area. It was a pretty fun trip and we were able to get some good shots. If you are in the area be sure to stop by the gift shop, all proceeds help fund the observatory.

Fujifilm X100V

I recently decided to add the Fujifilm X100V to my camera rotation. There have been many instances in the past where I’ve wanted to take photos but felt that my DSLR drew too much attention or was just too heavy to carry around for hours on end. After doing some research, and watching tons of camera reviews, I decided that the compact and lightweight body on the Fuji X100V was just what I was looking for. The camera is easy to carry around and easily fits in my jacket pockets. No more heavy camera bags or bulky backpacks! I took a few test shots, which I have posted below, and look forward to testing out the camera’s low light capabilities in the future.

A Week In Seoul

In 2019 I traveled to Seoul, South Korea with my girlfriend and a close friend. Our flight from San Francisco to Seoul was 16 hours and after having spent a full day working at the office, I felt completely drained during our red eye flight. After a long flight we arrived in Seoul and all my exhaustion was immediately replaced with excitement. I couldn’t wait to explore the city and eat tons of delicious food. Over the course of my week there I traveled to historic palaces and local monuments, amazing restaurants and cafes, and beautiful skydecks that showed all of Seoul. The café and dining scene was incredible and I didn’t have a single bad meal or drink during my time there. Seoul is architecturally stunning and does a perfect job of mixing advanced modern technology with the history and heritage of the city. The seven days I spent there was not enough time and I plan on returning to Seoul multiple times over the next few years. This trip led to a ton of great memories that I will never forget. For more images from my trip check out the “Cityscapes” section of the website and the “South Korea” section under travel.

Derp Collection

During this pandemic I’ve decided to edit and organize all of the photos that I’ve accumulated over the years. The recent collection I posted contains photos of my close friend, Derp, during some of his graffiti sessions around the Bay Area. Derp has a really dope style and I love all the colors he incorporates into his work. In addition to being a talented artist, Derp has helped my photography progress and has provided tons of motivation and guidence. The Derp collection is now live under the “collaborations” section of the website. All artwork is done by Derp, and all photos are taken/edited by myself.

Eat Grls Collection

Over the past few years I have spent a ton of time traveling around the Bay Area with my close friend, Eat Grls, and photographed his graffiti sessions. Our missions took us to some really dope locations and led to a bunch of great times. To this day he continues to be one of my favorite writers, and has a one of a kind style. Posted below are couple of my favorite photos that I took during our trips. The full Eat Grls photo collection is now live under the “collaborations” section of the website. All artwork is done by Eat Grls, and all photos are taken/edited by myself.

A Week In Toronto

In October of 2018 I got to spend seven days in Toronto, Canada. It was one of the few times I have traveled out of the country and my first time in Canada. I visited some amazing museums and was able to enjoy a ton of delicious food. One Zo, a boba café located in the Chinatown district, was by far my favorite place. There boba is the freshest and tastiest I’ve ever had and is handmade daily. The Casa Loma mansion and the views from CN Tower were also amazing, both locations offered great vantage points of the Toronto skyline. Overall the food was great and I really enjoyed my time in the city. I look forward to making another trip back to Toronto in the future.

Eon Cafe

A couple weekends ago I had the pleasure to work with the great folks over at Eon Cafe. I spent the afternoon taking photos of there various latte options, and was able to enjoy some delicious ramen while I was there. I had a great time working with them, and I recommend stopping by and enjoying some refreshing drinks and tasty food if you are in the area. The rest of the Eon Cafe photos can be found under the “collaborations” section of the website.

Kinokuniya USA

It's been a while since I've written a new blog post, but I figure now would be a good time to write one. I am currently showcasing some of my photographs at Kinokuniya USA bookstore, located in San Francisco's historic Japantown neighborhood. It's extremely exciting knowing that a bookstore that I have been going to since I was a little kid, will now be displaying and selling some of my work. All of the prints that are on display focus on night photography in various San Francisco locations. My prints will be on display from April 13th to May 4th. If you are into long exposures, or just photography in general, then come by and purchase some prints!

Trap X Art

I've been pretty busy editing and shooting photos and have neglected the blog portion of this website. Over the past few months I've visited a bunch of new spots with friends, and have started to make more prints of work. On June 19th I displayed some of my work at 111 Minna Gallery for one of the monthly Trap X Art shows. During the show I displayed various framed 8X10 prints and a few minature prints. It was my first time displaying my photos in public so I was extremely excited. I deeply appreciate all of the people who came out to support me, as well as the positive feedback I received for all of my work. Cheers everyone!
